Character card import & export: SillyTavern v2 and beyond

Your characters should be yours. omni-verse.chat supports SillyTavern v2 character card import and export, so you can bring a whole roster from another platform in minutes — and export everything back out whenever you want. No lock-in.

Importing a SillyTavern v2 card

• Open the character creator and choose import.
• Drop in your PNG or JSON v2 card — name, description, personality, scenario, greetings and example dialogue all carry over.
• Pick your tags and set the visibility: keep it private while you test, publish when you're happy.

What to check after import

V2 cards carry structure, not platform-specific behavior. Two fields deserve a quick review: the greeting (other platforms sometimes use placeholders our renderer doesn't) and example dialogue formatting (markdown conventions differ). Open a test chat, send one message, and you'll know in ten seconds whether the voice survived the trip.

Exporting your characters

Export produces standard v2-compatible cards from your characters' page. Your descriptions, greetings, example dialogue and tags all go with them. Combined with fork lineage and public sharing, this keeps the community's characters portable in both directions.

Portability is a policy, not a feature: it keeps the marketplace honest. Creators come because their work gets an audience, not because they're trapped.
